I had the pleasure of working with Albert on a high end project in the Hoboken W. I was introduced to him through a local architect. From the start, I knew it was going to be a great partnership. He asked lots of great questions to be sure we were on the same page, was articulate and communicative throughout the process, and followed up on loose ends to be sure everything was 100% perfect before his job was done. I have recommended Albert to friends and associates many times, and very much look forward to our next project together. We used Artworks Construction for a large, year-long gut apartment renovation in NYC. Albert nimbly navigated the complexities of NYC permitting and dealing with difficult NYC subcontractors, building management, and building staff. It wasn't easy, and it was often frustrating (for him), but he always maintained a great attitude and kept us realistically informed about progress and expectations. He designed our project without the need for an outside architect, and his design sense and attention to detail during the construction made it so that our punch list at the end of the project was minimal. Of three renovation projects on which we've embarked, this was by far the smoothest and most carefully executed, with a really beautiful outcome.

My family enjoyed the privilege of hiring Albert Pedulla for three jobs of varying scale over the last 18 years. Among his many qualities is the confidence he inspires. While I think I have good taste and reasonable opinions, the weightiness of expensive decisions in a gut renovation is tremendous. I experienced Albert’s keen eye for design and aesthetics as a huge relief; he was never going to let me make a really stupid decision! One time I had narrowed down bathroom tile choices to a lavender and a green. Albert said that lavender was trending and beautiful but the celadon green was timeless and the bathroom will never look outdated. Albert inspires confidence. When the wall gets opened up and reveals what is really going on, he consistently talked me through options on how to deal with the unexpected. Inevitably a sub floor needs work, a pipe needs replacing. Everything was clearly discussed. There were never any surprises with the bill. Albert is immensely adaptable; I’ve seen beautiful examples of his work that range from sleek, clean, and contemporary to old world and traditional. There was this sense in my pre-war gut renovation of the apartment “becoming.”Albert has way of discerning what the space was always meant to be. Albert often said that he tried to make the work look like it had always been there (only new and beautiful). It’s probably his fine art orientation that gives Albert an extraordinary attention to detail. The inside back corners of my cabinets and closets are as beautiful and well made as the exterior finishes. The job is not finished until it reaches Albert’s high standards and the customer is completely satisfied. I wouldn’t hesitate to start another project with Albert.
